While the central civil service examination is conducted by the “Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the state civil service exam is conducted by respective state commissions. In West Bengal, the state civil services examination is often referred to as The West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) exam or W.B.C.S.(Exe), in abbreviated form. It is conducted annually by the West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) for the purpose of recruiting civil servants in various departments of the state. The WBCS(Exe.) is one of the most sought-after competitive exams in West Bengal and every year lakhs of candidates appear for the exam with the dream of becoming a WBCS officer. However, only a few manage to clear this highly competitive exam with a service of their choice or preference.
The WBCS exam is usually conducted in three stages viz. Preliminary, Mains, and Interview. GROUP – A

GROUP- B
West Bengal Police Service (WBPS) is a police force in West Bengal, India

(ii) Joint Block Development Officer :
(PB-4) Rs.9,000/- to 40,500/- + G.P. Rs. 4,700/-

(iii) Deputy Assistant Director of Consumer Affairs and Fair Business Practices :
(PB-4) Rs.9,000/- to 40,500/- + G.P. Rs. 4,700/-
Gross emoluments at the entry-level: Rs.14,930/- besides D.A., M.A., and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.
(iv) West Bengal Junior Social Welfare Service:
(PB-4) Rs.9,000/- to 40,500/- + G.P. Rs. 4,700/-

(v) West Bengal Subordinate Land Revenue Service, Grade-I :
